Handbook of Ocular Disease Management: About the Authors

The authors are on the Review of Optometry Editorial Review Board, have published in the optometric literature extensively, and have lectured both nationally and internationally on ocular disease. The authors are all professional educators who have held university appointments for the majority of their careers, and have practiced privately.

Joseph W. Sowka, OD, FAAO, is an Associate Professor of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, where he teaches courses in glaucoma and retinal disease. He is also Attending Optometric Physician and Module Director in the Primary Care Clinic.

Andrew S. Gurwood, OD, FAAO, is an Associate Professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He is also Director of Optometric Services at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Alan G. Kabat, OD, FAAO, is an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. He is an Attending Optometric Physician and Module Director in the Primary Care Clinic. He is also the Director of the College's Externship Program.
