More Lens, Fewer Scratches
The ViZio atoric, single-vision, polycarbonate lenses with the Ultra Tough Multi-Coat (UTMC) anti-reflective coating are the latest offering from SOLA Optical USA. The atoricity of the ViZio lens can be customized for both sphere and cylinder powers, unlike conventional lens designs, which can be optimized for either sphere, cylinder power or an average in between.

SOLA’s UTMC is a proprietary anti-reflection technology that chemically fuses the AR coating with the hard coat and the lens material. SOLA claims this makes the lenses lighter, more durable, scratch-resistant and easier to clean than conventional AR coats. Call (707) 763-9911.

Rodenstock’s Aggressive New Progressives
The new Multigressiv 2 progressive lens from Rodenstock offers an enhanced surface design and more visual comfort. The enhancement is a result of a production process that coordinates working of the front and back surfaces of the lens. The new design of the front lens gives a wider progressive corridor without increasing astigmatism. The atoric/aspheric back surface allows for more individual calculation and design, such as prism. Bristol Gets Thinner and Lighter
Poly-B, from Bristol C&D, is a new, polycarbonate cosmetic lens that is thin, flat and lightweight. The lens incorporates Bristol geometry and is part of the Bristo-lite CR-39 aspheric lens series. A New Unilens Alternative for Presbyopes
Unilens introduces the new EMA multifocal soft contact lens for your presbyopic patients. EMA stands for emerging, moderate and advanced—for all ranges of vision requirements. Vistakon Offers Smart Lenses
Vistakon has also come out with a new contact lens option for presbyopes. Designed for emerging presbyopes, the new Acuvue bifocal lens features five concentric rings that incorporate the sphere and plus powers in an alternating fashion. Vistakon says the lenses offer precise zone-to-zone transitions and that blur and halos are minimal as a result. The lenses also feature UV-blocking, a visibility tint and a “1-2-3” inside-out marker for easier lens handling. No More Vials for Lifestyle
Lifestyle now offers its MV2 multifocal contact lenses in blister packs instead of vials. The Lifestyle MV2 features a center-intermediate design that is similar to single-vision lenses.
